He touched the lives of so many, not just in Heppner and not even just in Oregon; thanks to the exchange program, he was able to touch the lives of students from all over the world... The community has a huge hole in it now, and no matter who is teaching English from now on, he will never be replaced. His wife and three children are in the hearts, thoughts, and prayers of all of us Heppnerites... Rest in Peace, Mr. Mark Dowdy. We miss you.In the words of Jenna Bowman: "I hope you get to meet Bigfoot now. We'll miss you Mr. D."
And I'll bet the woman in this picture believes in Big Foot, too... You really weren't the only one!

Erin Price's status on facebook: "Lawn mower, rock concert... You guys. Mr. Dowdy, you will be missed."
Mr. Dowdy surprised us with hilarious lines all the time. He was the nicest guy I've ever met, and he'd do anything to avoid conflict or contention... Even if it meant removing his favorite students from class to tell them to shut up. ;)
What an incredible person he was... Mr. Dowdy will not soon be forgotten. His family will stay in my prayers.
